ACP Damien Robinson leaves RBPF for private sector

After nearly 30 years with the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), Assistant Commissioner Damien Robinson has left the force to take on a more lucrative career in the private sector.

Robinson, who was promoted to Assistant Commissioner in 2023, has accepted a senior position at Atlantis Paradise Island, a major shift from his long tenure in law enforcement.

Robinson’s law enforcement career began on July 1, 1994. Over the years, he has served in a wide variety of roles across multiple divisions. His early years saw him stationed at Central Police Station and Cable Beach Police Station, before moving into specialized units such as the Tourism Patrol Unit, the Internal Security Division, and the Security & Intelligence Branch.

One of Robinson’s most significant assignments came as Staff Officer and Executive Assistant to Commissioner Ellison Greenslade. His career continued to ascend as he held key leadership positions, including Officer in Charge of the Mobile Division and the Northeastern Division, and later as the Chief Superintendent overseeing the Operational Command Division, Police Training College, and the Eastern Division.

He earned his Associate of Arts Degree in Law & Criminal Justice from the Bahamas Baptist Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from the University of West Indies. In 2007, he was called to the Bahamas Bar as a Counsel & Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public.

He was also ordained as a Deacon in Mekaddish Ministries Incorporated.
