A man accused of murder failed to have his bail reduced.

Jonathan Eyma was granted $30,000 bail last November after he was accused of the shooting murder of Cynthia Bertha-Wilson at Lazaretto Road.

Despite being granted bail, Eyma remains in custody because his family members don’t have any property to post as security.

Eyma told the Court of Appeal that his relatives had paid bondsman Antwan Sands $2,500, but he had scammed them. Sands is unable to sign bail because he has criminal convictions.

However, the court refused to reduce his bail because they thought the amount was reasonable for the charge.
