Accused child abductor in prison on new charges

Accused child abductor De’Edra Gibson has been remanded to prison on charges of causing harm and threats of death.

Prosecutors allege that the 30-year-old threatened to kill Druneka Oliver and injured her.

Gibson, 30, denied the charges at her arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.

He denied Gibson bail and scheduled her trial for January 24, 2021.

At the time of the alleged offenses, Gibson was on bail on charges that she kidnapped four young boys from February 16 to March 26, 2019. She’s also accused of the attempted abduction of a seven-year-old boy as he walked to school on December 9, 2019.

Gibson was supposed to go to trial on the abduction charges in July. However, the trial has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
