A businessman who was arrested after police allegedly found drugs and guns at his company has pleaded not guilty.

Charles Bodie, 59, of Murphy Town, faces multiple charges following an October 7 raid carried out by police from Grand Bahama and Abaco.

The officers allegedly seized 290 pounds of marijuana and two kilos of cocaine.

What’s more, they allegedly found a 7.62 rifle, 10 unfired 5.56 rounds, 28 rounds of 7.62 ammunition, 74 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an Austrian Glock 9mm pistol, and a Remington 9mm pistol.

Bodie, who owns a car lot and wrecker service, denied that he possessed the drugs and guns at his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel Mckinney.

The magistrate has set an early trial date of November 19.

He granted Bodie $40,000 bail, but the police prosecutor blocked his release by notifying the court of his plan to appeal.
