An unsettling incident at the National Insurance Board’s (NIB) headquarters on Baillou Hill Road has left staff in shock after an assistant manager arrived at work on Tuesday to find a bottle of urine placed on her desk.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the urine was discovered inside a standard water bottle, which was reportedly still warm to the touch — indicating it had been placed there recently.
The assistant manager oversees a critical department within the agency and is believed to be the target of what is being described as a deliberate act of harassment.
“It’s completely unacceptable and disturbing,” said one NIB employee, speaking under condition of anonymity. “There have been tensions in the department, but no one expected anything this extreme.”
There is speculation that the act may have been carried out by a disgruntled employee who took issue with the assistant manager’s leadership style and the handling of ongoing, unresolved departmental concerns.
However, it is unclear who the culprit is.
