Suspect in Government House murder is acquitted

A jury has unanimously cleared Able Seaman Jevon Seymour of murder and attempted murder charges.

Police arrested the marine at his home, just two hours after a gunman murdered Petty Officer Percival Perpall at Government House.

Seymour was identified as the shooter by Marine Seamen Ellis Rahming and Calvin Hanna.

They said they witnessed the shooting and that Seymour tried to kill them too.

However, after an hour of deliberation the jury of all women rejected their testimony.

Seymour testified that he was at a party around the time of the murder and called four witnesses to support his alibi.
