Prosecutors dropped an attempted murder charge against a prison inmate after a shooting victim recanted his identification.
Mario Brown, 32, was charged with the September 4, 2022 shooting of Richard Turnquest.
Brown, who spent more than two months in custody on the attempted murder charge, was released from custody a day after a judge denied him bail for the case.
The withdrawal is a reversal of the position taken by the DPP’s Office last week.
The prosecution objected to Brown getting bail after Turnquest said police had charged the wrong man.
