Former school security guard wanted for double murder

Police are on the hunt for former primary school security guard Travon Stevens in connection with the murders of a mother and daughter found dead in bed this morning.

Police were alerted to the double murder on Stark Street in Nassau Village shortly after 8am Monday.

The woman, said to be about 30 years old, and her daughter, believed to be 10 years old, had gunshot wounds.

Police have said it is believed to be a domestic dispute. Hours later, they released a wanted bulletin for 36-year-old Travon Stevens, a resident of Beaumontia Avenue.

In 2016, Stevens was sentenced to three years in prison for shooting his ex-girlfriend in the leg. At the time he pleaded guilty to housebreaking and causing bodily harm.

Stevens, who has previous convictions, forced his way into the Deveaux Street home the victim shared with her family and attacked her.
