Elderly American Tourist Drowns in Boating Accident

Abaco, Bahamas - A 68-year-old American tourist from Mississippi lost his life after falling from a vessel near Tilloo Cay on Tuesday.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force in Abaco is currently conducting an investigation into the alleged drowning.


The authorities were alerted to the incident after 1:00 a.m., prompting a swift response from the police along with a search and rescue team.


The victim has been confirmed as a resident from Mississippi, U.S.A.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force crime report, the victim was standing on the edge of the vessel when he accidentally fell into the water.


Immediate efforts were made by two passengers aboard the vessel, who entered the dinghy in an attempt to rescue him.

Despite their prompt response, the victim was retrieved from the water in an unresponsive state.


CPR was administered until the victim was transported to the local clinic. Unfortunately, the local medical doctor pronounced him dead upon examination.


The police are actively continuing their investigations into the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
