Disgraced RBDF officer faces child abuse charges

A 26-year-old male officer of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) from Eleuthera is set to be arraigned in the Magistrates Court on Tuesday on multiple serious charges related to child abuse, stemming from incidents that reportedly occurred in Governor’s Harbour between Monday, June 30th, 2025, and Friday, July 19th, 2025.

The officer, whose name has not yet been publicly released, faces seven counts of Cruelty to Children and two counts of Indecent Assault.

Authorities launched an investigation following reports of alleged misconduct involving minors on the island.
