Bahamian fugitive caught in United States

Bahamian fugitive Jermaine Scott, who went on the run in the United States after committing murder in 2013, was caught by authorities in the US and deported to The Bahamas.

Scott, who lived in Golden Gates before he escaped to the US, was being sought by police in The Bahamas for the murder of 27-year-old Aliandro Bain.

Bain, a father, was involved in a verbal dispute with another man over a woman inside an establishment on Blue Hill Road South. When the argument escalated, the men moved to the outside of the South River Restaurant and Bar.

Bain was shot by the unidentified man multiple times in front of onlookers.

The shooter fled the area in a gold Buick Century with two other men.

At the time, Bain’s family offered a $5,000 reward for the capture of his killer.

Scott will be charged with Bain’s murder in the Magistrates Court today at noon.
