Nassau Flight Services staff walk off job

Operations at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) have come to a virtual halt after staff of Nassau Flight Services walked off of the job today.

Staffers all agreed to take their lunch break at the same time this afternoon, crippling operations at the country’s main gateway.

NFS staff are upset after they were unable to conclude negotiations for an industrial agreement with the government.

Workers include ground handlers and others who assist with flight services for local and international airlines.

It is unclear if they will return to their stations following their hourlong break or if they intend to remain off of the job.
