Sex offender killed days after release from prison

A recently released sex offender died in hospital today after he was badly beaten over the weekend.
Alden Scott, 55, was found bruised and battered through a track road on Sunday.
Scott was the first registered sex offender to be revealed to the public following the establishment of a sex offender’s registry.
Scott was released from prison on May 20 after serving 16 months of a two-year sentence for the indecent assault of a one-year-old girl.
He was given time off for good behavior.
Scott had a previous conviction, where he served six years for the rape of a 17-year-old girl.
National Security Minister Wayne Munroe warned members of the public not to harass or harm Scott.
Otherwise, he said sex offenders would no longer be publicly named.
