Eleuthera social services suspended

The latest update on the Government's Emergency Orders continues to put Bahamians at a disadvantage. In addition to a continued lockdown for mainland Eleuthera, the government's meager food assistance program has been suspended.

To add another layer of burdens, more than 100 persons on the island of Eleuthera have not received Social Services payments since October.

Families in need are given the run around between Social Services and the banks. There is no money.

The Prime Minister intends to keep his foot on the neck of Eleuthera further hampering economic recovery. Private companies like Jack's Bay Club continue to let staff go as their opening date has been suspended three times since March 2020. It doesn't look good for Eleutherans and the troubled South Eleuthera MP is too embroiled in an entanglement to care.
