Body found in waters behind the Pointe

Officers fished a man’s body out of waters near the Pointe development on Bay Street on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were alerted after the body was found floating in the water.

Construction workers from the Downtown development looked on in shock as a police officer used a rope to remove the body from under the dock.

Police have not indicated how long the man may have been in the water, whether he had injuries or if foul play is suspected.
